Fexofenadine is an antihistamine that is used to relieve allergy symptoms include runny nose, watery eyes, itching eyes/nose, body itching, and sneezing, and hives. This medicine works by blocking a certain natural substance known as histamine that your body makes during an allergic reaction.
- Montelukast is a leukotriene(loo-kee-TRY-een) inhibitor. Leukotriene is the chemicals of your body releases when you puff an allergen(such as pollen). These chemicals object to swelling in your lungs and tightening of the muscles around your airways, which can result in asthma symptoms.
- Montelukast is a prescription drug and it comes in a tablet that can be swallowed as a whole, or as a chewable tablet. It is also available in the form of granules which can be dissolved in liquid or soft food.
- Montelukast oral tablet is used to cure and prevent asthma. This medication is used to treat seasonal and year-round allergies.
- Montelukast is also used to prevent exercise which includes bronchoconstriction(EIB). EIB appears when the airways in the lungs narrow during or after exercise. This could cause shortness of breath, cough, or wheezing.
- Some medications are not suitable for people having certain conditions, and sometimes a medicine might only be used if extra care is taken. Due to these reasons, before you or your child start taking fexofenadine it is prime that your doctor knows the following conditions such as:
- If you are trying for a baby, you are pregnant or do breastfeeding.
- If you ever had an allergic reaction to another antihistamine, or to any other medicine.
- If you are taking or using any other medicines which involve any medicine purchase without prescription, as well as herbal or complementary medicines.
Some side effects are common which go away when your body gets used to the medicine. If your side effects are persistent then talk to your doctor straight away. Side effects that happen with the intake of Fexofenadine include the following:-
- Headache

Postmarketing side effects of fexofenadine include:-
- Nervousness
- Sleep disorders(paranoia, insomnia)
- Hypersensitivity reactions
- Hives
- Skin swelling
- Serve allergic reactions(anaphylaxis)
- Chest tightness
- Shortness of breath
- Flushing
- Itching
- Rash
- Get emergency medical help if you are experiencing any signs of an allergic reaction(hives, swelling in your face or throat, difficulty breathing) or a serve skin reaction(fever, burning eyes, sore throat, skin pain, red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling).
- You need to tell your doctor straight away if you have any signs of blood vessel inflammation which are flu-like symptoms, skin rash, feeling weak or tired, tingling or numbness in your arms or legs, serve sinus pain.
- Some serious symptoms of serious side effects include sleepwalking, feeling anxious, bad or vivid dreams, agitation, restlessness, tremor, suicidal sleeping, suicidal thoughts or actions, hallucinations(seeing or hearing things that aren’t really there).

Adult: 180 mg orally once a day or 60 mg orally twice a day

Children over 12 years: 60 mg orally twice a day OR 180 mg orally once a day
