Omeprazole is used to cure conditions caused by too much acid production in the stomach such a:-

Omeprazole belongs to a class of drugs recognized as proton pump inhibitors(PPIs). a class of drugs is a group of medications that works in the same way. These drugs are used only to treat similar conditions

Omeprazole works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach produces in your body. This medicine does this by blocking a system in the cells of your stomach known as a proton pump. The proton pump works at the final step of caid production. when the proton pump is blocked, your stomach produces less acid. In this way, it can help decrease your symptoms.

Omeprazole does not cause drowsiness but it can cause other side effects. Common side effects are:-

Adult side effects are:-

Stomach pain

Nausea

Headache

Diarrhea

Vomiting

Gas

Fever

If these side effects are mild, they might go away within a few days or a couple of weeks. If that is more severe or do not go away, consult with your doctor.

Serious side effects

Call your doctor immediately if you are experiencing serious side effects. The symptoms of serious side effects are as follow:-

Low magnesium levels - using this medicine for three months or longer can cause low magnesium levels. Symptoms can be:-
