Piperacillin 4 Gm & Tazobactum 0.5 Gm (ACTUM)

This medicine is given by injection into a vein as directed by your doctor, usually every 6 hours. It should be injected slowly over at least 30 minutes and the dosage depends on your medical condition and response to treatment. For children, the dosage also depends on age and weight.

If you are using this medicine at home, learn all the preparation and usage instruction from your health care professional. before using this medicine check this product visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use the liquid.

Constipation, nausea, diarrhea, headache, or trouble sleeping might occur. If any of these side effects last or get worsen, tell your doctor immediately.

Many people are not experiencing any kind of side effects. But tell your doctor straight away if you have any serious side effects which include: easy bleeding/bruising.

This medication might rarely cause a serve intestinal condition due to a bacteria called C. difficile. This condition might occur during the treatment or weeks to months after the treatment has stopped. Tell your doctor straight away if you have: diarrhea that does not stop, abdominal or stomach pain/cramping, blood/mucus in your stool.

If you are experiencing any of the side effects, do not use anti-diarrhea or opioid products because they may make symptoms worse.

Use this medicine for prolonged or repeated periods might result in oral thrush or a new yeast infection. Talk with your doctor if you notice white patches in your mouth, a change in vaginal discharge, or other new symptoms. Get medical help straight away if you have any very serious side effects including signs of kidney problems such as a change in the amount of urine, seizures.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is very rare. Moreover, get medical help straight away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including new or worsening lymph node swelling, fever that does not go away, itching/swelling especially of the face/tongue/throat, serve dizziness, trouble breathing.

Before using piperacillin/tazobactam, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it, or to other antibiotics such as penicillin, cephalosporins, or if you have any other allergies. This product might contain inactive ingredients, which can lead to allergic reactions or other problems.

Before using this medicine, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of kidney disease, seizure disorder, cystic fibrosis.

This medication consists of sodium. Consult with your doctor if you are on a salt-restricted diet or if you have conditions that could be worsened by an increase in salt intake such as high blood pressure, heart failure.

Piperacillin/tazobactam might cause live bacterial vaccines such as typhoid vaccine to not work as well. Do not have any vaccination/immunizations while using this medication unless your doctor tells you to.

Before having surgery, tell your doctor about all the products you are using including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products.

Older adults might be more sensitive to the extra sodium in this medication.

During pregnancy, this medicine must not be used only when cleared needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor about this medicine.

This medication passes into breast milk in small amounts so talk with your doctor before breast-feeding.
